A family holiday is hardly complete if you can’t take “man’s best friend”.
At The Shelter we love our dogs – Ruby and Walter are long haired standard Dachshunds mother and son. We don’t go anywhere without them.
Consequently, we welcome you with your pets.
The beaches are great for them to roam with you on the lead unless you head down past third ramp on Long Beach where they are able to roam free.
There are numerous ‘poo bag’ stations at the entrance to the beaches and around town on the various paths so make sure you have a good supply at hand for those moments.
Most of the cafes are dog friendly offering water bowls so you can enjoy your coffee and not be concerned that your dog would also like a drink.
There are also tethering points on the verandah posts if you’d like to pop into any of the retailers for a look.
